A major grant helped Brookfield CARES bring acclaimed writer, comedian, and mental health activist Kevin Breel to Brookfield High School. Kevin Breel addresses his personal struggle with depression in an engaging manner, encouraging the young audience members to advocate for themselves in the vital issue of mental health. This presentation, given during the day for students and in the evening for parents and community members, acted as a springboard to open dialogue on the issue of mental health throughout the Brookfield community.
