The BEF recently funded a grant brought to us by Grant Champion, Ilene Howard, with the Brookfield High School Life Skills program. This project creates a continual internship program for Brookfield special education students to develop real-world business, communication, and life skills through making and selling handcrafted jewelry and greeting cards. By designing, producing, and marketing their products, students learn creativity, money management, and customer interaction while fostering inclusion within the Brookfield community. The program’s success will be measured through sales, feedback, and sustainability, providing ongoing opportunities for students to build confidence, independence, and entrepreneurial skills that prepare them for life beyond school.
